The biggest problem is that the show currently has very little in the way of momentum. The cast is still way too big, and the story is still too spread out. The writers would be much better served to gut the cast, streamline the story, and find a way to give the overall series a rousing climax. Instead, the pace is slower than itâ??s been in a very long time. I still like a lot of things about this show, but it continues to be one of the most frustrating.

So, Hiro sets up a magic show for fellow patients. He uses his power to stop time, so that Emma can fully grasp just what his power is. She plays along with Hiro’s “disappearing” act, and Hiro explains that there are no bad powers. He tells Emma to try and understand the power to do good things. In this case, Hiro has made a room full of sick people happy, something Emma is able to do later with her piano playing. Mission accomplished.

In this episode of Heroes, Claire and Gretchen get involved with sorority rush and, like, totally make out. Meanwhile, Peter and Emma make a deeper connection after he saves her from a near-death accident, unintentionally absorbing her power in the process. And as Samuel sets out to find a new family member, the newly resurrected Sylar takes a trip downtown with a Baltimore cop (Ernie Hudson). Unfortunately for Sylar, he has no idea who he is, but when it starts to become clear, he becomes a fugitive once more. And all fugitives love Ferris wheels! How does Sylar end up at the circus? Let’s find out.

As much as I appreciated the previous episode, this one left me wondering if thereâ??s much momentum to this season at all. Certain lessons from the past seem to have been forgotten once again, and other plot threads seem to have meandered before the initial conditions could be adequately explored.

Um…..wasn’t Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow character a “young Keith Richards”?  This should be very interesting then.  I’m not worried though.  Knepper is awesome, especially when he’s deliciously evil. Even “Heroes” is taking a Halloween theme next week. Claire and Gretchen are being hazed by their new sorority sisters but they quickly realize that it is not just a game when during the scavenger hunt, it is possible to die.

Elsewhere, Sam is attempting to clean Sylar’s memory by helping him to retrieve his. Matt goes to extreme measures to extinguish Sylar, who continues to torment him. Meanwhile, H.R.G. calls in a favor from Tracy to save a troubled young boy whose misfortunes resemble her own.

“Strange Attractors” is scheduled to air on Monday, October 26. On another news, Executive Producer Adam Armus has just confirmed to Sci Fi Wire that a major character is indeed going to die this season and it will be a ‘he’. “We always pull surprises on Heroes. That’s all I have to say. It is an epic battle. It’s an epic struggle between two very well-loved characters, and it’s going to be really compelling,” Armus elaborated.

So far this season, the writers seem to be struggling. Theyâ??ve made a few very good choices that should have helped to eliminate many of the missteps of the third season: they introduced a compelling new group of characters, and they reduced the number of plot threads captured in a single episode. On the other hand, they still insist on focusing on the same old cast of characters, and as a result, there is a feeling that the story has been there and don that already.
