Hiroâ??s subplot with Emma did much to bring her character into a better understanding of her gift, which should reap rewards in the future, but it didnâ??t seem to do much for Hiro. Hiro was pretty much the same as he ever is, and still dedicated to his mission to change the past for the better (despite all the evidence in earlier seasons that itâ??s not possible to do that). Either they are stringing out his fate as long as possible, or they are doing what they have always done: using some excuse to keep the most powerful metahumans in check until the conflict comes to a head.

Even though Sylar knows what he’s done, he’s still a clean slate (thus the episode title). Edgar is upset with Samuel, partly because Lydia has taken a shine to Sylar, but mostly because he wonders what good Sylar is if he won’t kill. Samuel begs Edgar for his patience, saying Sylar is still a baby learning how to walk. So Samuel plans to dirty up Sylar’s clean slate with their ideals. And when their new monster is created, he’ll never leave the family behind.

Speaking (however indirectly) of chemistry, as much as I like what Peter and Emma were doing in this episode, and how well the producers are treating Emmaâ??s â??Dazzlerâ?? ability, I hope they donâ??t end up in a romantic relationship. Itâ??s a bit of a cliché, and Peterâ??s track record is fairly horrible. Besides, once he discovers Nathanâ??s true fate, I imagine heâ??ll have other concerns on his mind. That, and Hiroâ??s situation, which rather coincidentally dropped into his lap.

Peter looses is road-runner ability and gains Emma’s “I see colors” ability. Though, he still can hear normally too, and so that is kinda weird. But who says writers need to pay attention to logic and science… hmmm guess that would be me *shrugs* Anyhow, Emma opens up to him as he begins to introduce her to the story of the ‘others’. I am betting this will freak her mother right the frak out.

Samuel prepares for new additions to his family, while Lydia warns him of the consequences. Claire discovers that her roommate Gretchen may have a hidden agenda. Meanwhile, Peter finds an unexpected way to connect with Emma, who would prefer to stay distant. Elsewhere, a different side of Sylar emerges as he desperately tries to remember the person he used to be.

Actually, it can’t be. I live in Salford, England, and round here people are very proud of a young man called Russell Watson. My sister, who lives in the south of England, came to visit me recently and wanted to go and see the area where he was born. He’s recently achieved fame and fortune. He’s a singer. He has a rather good tenor voice and manages to sing some of the classics and a lot of modern songs very well. Pavarotti has just died and maybe there’s a vacancy for a new tenor on the scene. Russell Watson was booked in to perform at the Oscars this year, or something similar, so they’re going to see him in Beverley Hills too. He’s still fairly young, he’s quite good looking and he’s a lot more slim than his Italian counterpart. Maybe he will rise up the ladder and become world famous shortly.
